Indonesia’s Lion Air signed a record $24 billion deal with French planemaker Airbus on Monday, purchasing 243 planes, the single largest order booked by Airbus.
The nation’s domestic air market is expected to reach 1.2 billion passengers a year by 2016. While plane manufacturers are eager to enter Indonesia’s market, critics warn that the market may reach saturation.
